Everything You Need to Know About Air Conditioning Systems

Air conditioning systems are designed to introduce warm air into a system and disperse cold air. The most common type of air conditioning system is the central air conditioning system, which consists of two units, the condensing unit and the evaporation unit, connected by refrigerant tubes. A split system is another type of air conditioning system, which consists of an indoor coil and an outdoor condenser with a compressor. A packaged system combines these components into an outdoor system.

All air conditioning systems have a dehumidification cycle during which the compressor runs while the fan slows down to lower the evaporator temperature and condense more water. A fan pushes warm air into the air ducts where it passes through a filter system that removes airborne particles such as dust and lint. The first step in choosing an air conditioner is to determine how much you are willing to spend and how much effort it will take to install it. Some heat pump systems will have a form of electrical resistance heating in the indoor air path that is activated only in this mode to compensate for temporary cooling of indoor air.

Air conditioners come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but all operate on the same basic premise. An air conditioner provides cool air inside your home or enclosed space by removing heat and humidity from the indoor air. This dehumidification occurs when warm indoor air passes through the cold evaporator, where warm air condenses and loses moisture. Fortunately for us, Carrier took up the challenge and today's air conditioning units are the result of that first goal: to condition rooms by dehumidifying the air, which makes spaces feel fresher to the skin.

Air conditioning systems are essential for keeping your home comfortable during hot summer days. With so many options available, it's important to understand how they work and what type of system is best for your home.
